All natural fibres for the best quality textiles
At Mungo we believe in using natural fibres. We stand by upholding the standards of good design, by using quality threads to produce a quality product. We also believe in weaving our products with integrity and transparency – which is why we opened our own mill. And then opened our mill to the public.
We commit to ‘doing our bit.’ That’s why we donate 1% of our annual turnover to MOVE, our Corporate Social Responsibility initiative aimed at uplifting the Plettenberg Bay community in which our production process is based.

Cotton
Cotton is the fibre we use most extensively in our range. With its soft handle, absorbency and durability, it is easy to love this simple plant. Mungo sources its cotton from Southern Africa, which is then woven into a range of long-lasting, soft and breathable homeware textiles at the Mungo Mill. Easy to care for and easy to love.
Linen
Linen for longevity. Linen is a fabric that will last you through the years, ageing gracefully and softening with time and use. It has been in use since antiquity – with fragments of linen discovered in tombs, ancient caves and sarcophaguses of ancient Egypt. The fibre is produced from the flax plant – a sustainable and renewable resource that is praised for its durability. Our linen yarn, sourced from Italy, has a cool, crisp finish. A classic choice suitable for year-round use.
